Let's see, my birthday was pretty awesome. It was nice because it was a nice full day of missionary work. To start off I got a ton of cards in the mail! I also got a package from Grandma Sandy which arrived perfectly on my birthday! Thank You! That was super awesome! Then I got to teach some of our progressing investigators, and their lessons went super well! So well that one of our investigators committed to be baptized! It was a miracle. Then to top the day off we got to see the Northern Lights! It was the perfect missionary birthday because it was mostly a normal day of work; with a few more miracles than usual. The northern lights were a nice little birthday present from God. Haha.
Our investigator who is on his way to be baptized name is John. He is from Turkey and has had a strong Christian background. He was found by the missionaries a few days before I got to Boden. Apparently when he was contacted by the missionaries he was on the street looking for a Church. He loves the Book of Mormon and seems to have been looking for the truth for some time now. He is the nicest guy. The only problem right now is that he lives in Boden and the Church is in Luleå which is a 45-minute bus ride. We are just looking for a way to get over that and then I think he will be solid. We also have quite a few other positive investigators that we are working with. So things are going pretty well!
This week we went to Umeå for Zone Training. It was really cool to go back to Umeå. I haven't been there since I was a Greenie in Sundsvall. It was also kind of weird to be back to a place a year later. The building was the same and the weather was the same, but this time there was completely different missionaries. It was funny to talk with the missionaries serving in Sundsvall because I got to hear about the members and the same old investigators that they are working with. Haha. It all made me feel really old. Now I am 20 and with a younger missionary and hearing about people I worked with a year ago... It's been strange.
Well, this was great, and from the sound of it looks like you are all had a good week as well. One thing that has been on my mind lately is how important it is to remember that faith without works is dead. That is something I see a lot here. Where people don't have any faith because they have never tried to find anything more. Or a person may have faith or religious belief but doesn't use that faith to do good. Also the Scriptures are awesome, the commandments are awesome, and missionary work is awesome.
Anyway I hope you all have a good week! Ha Det Så Bra!
