We watched the Saturday morning session on Saturday night, and then we watched the Priesthood Session, the Saturday Afternoon session, and the Sunday morning session on Sunday. I still haven't seen the Sunday Afternoon session yet. Conference was soo good! There were really great messages from all. I am super excited for the new Apostles. There were so many talks that I liked. We got to watch it in English in another room in the chapel so we could understand all of it. I can't wait to get The Liahona magnetize so I can read through them all again.
In between the sessions the members made a dinner. They then sang to the Swedish Happy Birthday song to me, which was really nice. They had a cake that was made of cream and ice cream, so that was cool. We have really cool members here. There are so many awesome people. The Sisters and Elders in my district also decorated the car and each of them wrote me a letter. They are super nice. So over all it was an Awesome Birthday!
This week ended well, but we had a rough start for teaching. Our investigators cancelled our lessons 8 times this week. It was hard because I didn't know what to do. We were able to get some street lessons in however and I meet some really cool people who were interested in the gospel. Then on Saturday we had David come to one session of conference. Then Per came to a session of conference on Sunday (which was a bit unexpected), and we also were able to have him speak with Arto, a member who is a doctor, to start a plan to get him off snus. Then Sven came Sunday night to a session and said he really liked it. These were all really great blessings.
I find myself having a great love for my investigators. We went to see Per on Friday, and we read from the Book of Mormon with him. He is such a nice guy, but I was sad because he seems so alone. He lives by himself and it seems like the only people we see him with are his care takers and us. He can't really get around much because he can't drive. I left that day wanting to do more for him. I wanted more Church members to know him. I wanted to make a plan to get him off snus and coffee. I wanted him to have the happiness that comes from being a member of Christ’s Church. Then on Sunday I was sitting watch conference, and then in came Per to watch conference with us. After that session I watched him as members went up and talked to him, asked him how he was doing, laughed with him. He was so happy. He felt welcomed.
That was the best birthday present: seeing someone else be happy because of the gospel; seeing sadness leave and joy fill their hearts because of Church members. I am so thankful for this gospel and the joy it can bring into people’s lives. We are never alone; Christ will always be with us.
