First off this week we went on splits with the assistants. That went super well. It was kind of funny because a transfer ago I went on Splits in Gubbängen with Elder Jämsä when he was Zone leader here. Now he is the assistant coming to Gubbägen with me. Haha. I don't know if that made sense to you at all but it was funny to me. Well after that we went to Jakobsberg's District meeting and went on Splits with the Jakobsberg Elders. That was really cool to be able to see more of the northern part of Stockholm. Something cool that happened while I was on splits was that while we were on our way to a lesson we stopped a women and started talking to her about the gospel. She seemed a little crazy but we got her number anyway. That night we called her to see if we could make an appointment and another man answered. Well Elder Carlson got an appointment with him instead. Anyway turns out that they met with the man and it was an old investigator! I guess he just lost contact with the missionaries. When they started teaching him, he seemed to know everything. So they were like "You seem to know everything, so what are we doing here?" and he said "well I would like to be baptized". So the Jakobsberg Elders were really excited about him. Hopefully he will get baptized in a few weeks. It really goes to show you that you have to talk with everyone as a missionary.
The next day we went to district meeting in Stockholm. It was a fantastic district meeting where we talked about what motivates us. It was super funny because we were talking about Captain Moroni and how he had the banner of freedom and while we were talking about how he rent his coat Elder Pfost stood up and ripped off his white shirt! (of course he was wearing another dress shirt underneath). Anyway we took the shirt and all wrote on it the things that inspired us. So we got a pretty epic picture of that.
Anyway, then I was on splits with the other Gubbäggen Elders while my companion Elder Pfost went to the temple with his MTC group and had a self-reliance class because he is about to go home. It was kind of a rough day with the other Gubbäggen Elders because we had a full day planed with lessons then they all got cancelled. But we were able to still kind some people to teach. A super funny thing that happened when I was on splits with them is that they got a big huge bag of pant from a member. Just so you know, in Sweden panting is a really big thing. It is where you collect cans and bottles and then you can turn them in at any grocery store for money. People are able to get a lot of money from finding and collecting pant. Well as I said, the other Elders had just gotten a big bag of pant worth about 50kr. As we were walking to the tunnelbanna station a Gypsy women came up and yelled "Pant!". She then took it right out of Elder Nelson's hands and started walking into the store. Elder Williams wanted her to give it back but it would make too much of a scene. I just thought it was hilarious. They were kind of upset though. HAHA.
Well on Sunday our investigators Ali and Mahdi got Baptized! I don't know if I have talked about them. They speak Persian but also have pretty good Swedish as well and are just the nicest guys. They were teaching them before I transferred here, but I got to help teach most of the lessons and almost all the commandments. They just always said that they felt happier after they met us. They were actually baptized in Hägerstens ward because they moved over there while we were teaching them. It was just so cool to see how much the gospel just made sense to them. They definitely really like the Church and are super solid. Anyway it was super good to see them get Baptized.
