Well this week has been a very exciting week for us. First off, we were able to go down to Stockholm for P-day. That was pretty awesome. We walked around Gamla Stad for a while and looked into some of the old Churches there. It was super fun to be there during Christmas time because we kept running into members in Stockholm. One member gave us a tour around one of the older Churches telling us about what all the different paintings meant. We also ran into two members from America! They were in Sweden for a little visit and they ran into us! They were super nice, they got us hot dogs and waffles! It was super awesome! Then at the end of the night we were able to go out and contact people a little bit in Stockholm. Overall a pretty fun day. We then stayed with Elder Olsen and his Greenie that night.
The next day, we had Zone Conference in Gubbangen Chapel in Stockholm. It was a great conference. The Beckstrand’s and the assistants always do such a good job. They forced a lot about loving our companions, having faith, and having charity for others. The music was also really awesome. I realized that we have a lot of really talented missionaries in this mission. We also played some fun games and exchanged white elephant gifts. I got a king's crown. Classic. XD I really love everyone in this mission. It just feels like a big family here. It's awesome. Then at the end of Zone Conference we got to watch a movie!! It was a gift from the Beckstrand’s apparently. We watch a movie that's pretty new called Saturday Night Warriors. It was a super, cheezy Mormon-themed movie that left you crying by the end of it. Haha. It was super good. I highly recommend it!
We then flew back to Luleå Tuesday night so we were back in our area by Wednesday. We had a really good week with all of our investigators. When we were teaching our investigator Gayez the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the library the power in the whole city went out! Since it was three o'clock it was pitch black outside. So that was a funny experience. On Friday, our area was supposed to get a new car so we had to drive our old car down to Umeå so that the Office Elders could give us our new car then we drove back up to Luleå that day. So that was a lot of driving. But that was okay because we just listened to a bunch of conference talks. Then Friday night we had our Ward Christmas Party! It was super fun! Although we were a little late because of driving to Umeå, we were just in time to sing in the Choir. We were in a Luciatåg. Which is a big Christmas tradition in Sweden. Elder Carter and I got to be Star Boys in the Choir. Haha. It was fun.
Then that night we had the Skellefteå Elders with us to do work-overs and we saw the Northern Lights! They filled the entire sky they were crazy!! It was funny actually how we saw them. We had heard that the northern lights were going to be pretty strong that night so we drove outside the city a little to see them. When we were out there we couldn't see them out at all. Elder Carter hadn't seen the Northern lights yet so we really wanted to see them that night. So we decided to say a prayer. Then we waited for ten minutes and we didn't see them very strong. We were focusing on a very faint light out in the north. Then when we looked up the entire sky above us was going crazy with the northern lights! God had answered our prayer. We were just looking in the wrong place for the longest time. When really the lights were just above as. It was a nice little lesson from the northern lights we call learned.
Well, transfer calls came and I will be staying here to finish training Elder Carter. It was a shorter transfer this time because of the holidays. I have really been enjoying training Elder Carter he is super fun and we are having a lot of success this transfer. This next transfer I will also be the District leader, so that will be fun!
To answer all of your questions; Yea it is still really cold here. I don't know how much it cost to fly. We just get a code then put it in the kiosk at the airport and it prints off our tickets. The seats aren't any bigger, and I think the mission buys us all seats in the middle of two people so we can talk to them about the gospel. Haha. Then we just stay with some other Elders. That's it for me! Love you all! Now here is a LOT of Photos from this week.
