This week we got to do work overs in Karlskrona. Elder Thacker is training a new missionary next transfer so he needed to go up to Stockholm for training. That meant that we needed to be his companion till he got back. Well we decided that after our district meeting on Thursday in Kristanstad we would go back with Elder Benson (Elder Thacker’s Companion) to Karlskrona. Well as me and Elder Murtonen were on our way to Kristanstad for district meeting we were walking to the bus to catch our train. Well the bus decided to show up 5 minutes early. So we missed the bus that would get us to the train station on time. But it was okay because we gave us extra time and all we needed to do was to catch the next bus. So we got on the next bus and were happy to see our train still there. As we go to push the button to open the train door, the train starts leaving... Well now we are late to our district meeting, we take another train and it was all good because they accepted our tickets and we didn't have to buy new ones. After district meeting we and Elder Benson were on our way to travel to Karlskrona from Kristanstad and we got on a train thinking it was ours. As we are on the train we realize that we are on the wrong train. Just as we realized that the doors close and the train starts moving. We weren't going to Kristanstad, we were going to Copenhagen, Denmark! Luckily, we were just able to get off at the next stop and then catch a train to Kristanstad. So it all turned out well except for the fact that we missed one of our appointments in Karlskrona. It was a miracle also because all throughout this adventure nobody ever checked our tickets. Anyway I learned that trains are tricky. Also I learned a good lesson from the whole adventure. That is there are just some things that you can't control and having a positive attitude makes a difference. We can sit and wish things were better or we can make an adventure of the whole situation. Once we were able to be on the train and laugh about it all, everything seemed to work out.
Work-overs in Karlskrona was very fun. It's a city right on the sea with really nice old buildings everywhere. It kind of reminded me of Sundsvall. In Karlskrona it was interesting to be working as three missionaries. It made everything definitely interesting. I am telling you being a missionary in Sweden is the best. The missionaries here are some of the greatest people I have ever met. So fun to work with them all. This week we got transfer calls, Elder Murtonen will be transferring and I will be staying here in Växjö as the new district leader. My new companion's name is Elder Higgens and he is from Oregon, so that will be cool. As Distract leader I get to conduct the district meeting every week as well as go on splits with the other elders in my district. Which is super cool because they are all in different areas.
Anyway that is about all that is going on in my life right now. The work is good and I hope you are all doing well. I love you all and the Church is True.
